The crowning of The Voice’s winning artist and coach of the ninth season happened last night after a round of amazing performances by the four finalist on Monday night. Each contestant had the opportunity to bring back a previous artist in the competition to perform with one last time.
The top 24 of the competition iced off the night with a group performance of “Lean On”.
After a night filled with amazing performances by the contestants and stars like Missy Elliot, Pharrell, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, and The Weeknd, the winner was announced.
Carson Daly brought out the our finalist, Barrett Baber, Emily Ann Roberts, Jeffery Austin and Jordan Smith on the stage announcing the fourth place artist, Jeffery Austin. Then announced the third artist Barrett Baber leading into the announcement for winner of the The Voice. This left two finalists left, Emily Anne Roberts and Jordan Smith. With high anticipation, Daly announced the season nine winner: Team Adam’s Jordan Smith! This win makes it Adam Levine’s third season as the winning coach of the show.
After the announcement, winner Jordan Smith performed “Climb Every Mountain”. Watch the performance below:
Then Justin Bieber closed out the show with an intimate performance of “Sorry”.
